Account Delete Policy

At Antarrashtriya Patrakar Mahasangh (APM Trust), we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains how you can delete your account and what happens to your information once the process is initiated.
1. How to Initiate Deletion
Users may request the deletion of their account through the following methods:

Self-Service: If available, navigate to your "Profile Settings" or "Account Dashboard" and select the "Delete Account" option.

Direct Request: Email us at newsapm3@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account. Please include "Account Deletion Request" in the subject line.
2. Information That Will Be Deleted
Upon completion of the deletion process, the following data will be permanently removed from our active databases:

Your profile information (Name, Bio, Profile Picture).

Your login credentials and contact details.

Membership history and professional journalist credentials stored in your profile.
3. Information That May Be Retained
Please note that certain data may not be removed immediately or at all for legal, security, or archival reasons:

Public Contributions: Comments, forum posts, or articles published on the site may remain visible but will be "anonymized" (the author name will be changed to "Deleted User").

Financial Records: Records of donations or membership payments will be retained for the period required by financial regulations.

Legal Compliance: We may retain specific data points if required to comply with law enforcement or to resolve existing disputes.
4. Processing Time
Once a deletion request is verified:

Your account will be deactivated within 48 to 72 hours.

Full data purging from our backup systems may take up to 30 days to ensure the security of our infrastructure.
5. Consequences of Deletion

Permanent Action: Account deletion is permanent. Once completed, your data cannot be recovered, and you will lose access to any member-only resources or history.

Membership Forfeiture: If you have an active membership, deleting your account will terminate your access to member benefits immediately. No partial refunds are issued for account deletions initiated by the user.
6. Third-Party Data
If you used a third-party service (such as Google or Facebook) to log in to apmtrust.org, you may also need to revoke access to our website within that service’s security settings to ensure no further data sync occurs.
